Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
As I write this article, it is the 13th of April. We have just celebrated the resurrection of our Savior. The Coronavirus has brought much change and disruption into our lives and by the time you read this, I’m sure things will have changed even more. Perhaps we will have more to adjust to. Or maybe things will have begun to get back to normal. I do not know. It is the uncertainty that drives us to strive for direction and understanding. Think of it, if we had all the answers, we would have no need for illumination as our guide.
Before the Psalmist could write this powerful verse, contained in a passage used to teach children to read, he had to confess that he didn’t know the way. He had to ask for light in order to determine the direction to go. Without this clarification he would have been stumbling in the dark.
Today there are more unknowns than I can remember, changes coming every day. As a Pastor, I find This setting to be a good thing in that, I’m seeking the Lord more fervently in my inability. Learning more and more of my need of Jesus in every day and every way. You see, Jesus is the Word and the Light.
I want to encourage you to cry out to Him. Let him know you recognize your dimness of sight and ask him to guide you through the day.
In Christ Alone, Pastor David
